One Down Golf — Privacy Policy

One Down Golf (“we,” “us,” the “app”) is a golf scorecard and bet-tracking tool. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

No money is transacted through this app. One Down Golf calculates who owes what based on the games and stakes you set. All settlements happen between players outside the app (cash, Venmo, etc.). We do not process, hold, or transfer money.

Information we collect

Account information you provide: your name, phone number, email address, and — optionally — your handicap index, GHIN number, and home club(s). You create an account with an email and a one-time code or password.

Gameplay information: the rounds you play, hole-by-hole scores, the games and stakes you choose, and the resulting settlement math. Scores you enter for other players (in shared-scoring rounds) are stored with the round.

Photos you choose to submit: if you use the “scan a scorecard” feature, the app accesses your camera or photo library only when you choose to add or scan a card, and sends that image to our processing service to read the scorecard. We do not access your camera or photos otherwise.

Basic usage information: the date you last opened the app, to understand engagement. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

How we use your information

To run the app: record scores, calculate bet outcomes, and show settlement math.
To connect you with friends and clubs you choose to join, and to keep lifetime and head-to-head stats between confirmed friends.
To email you round reports and results (via our email provider).
To maintain and improve the app.

How your information is shared

With other players you play with: people in your rounds see shared scores and settlement results; confirmed friends accrue lifetime head-to-head totals with you.
With service providers who run the app on our behalf: our database/auth/hosting provider (Supabase) stores your data; our email provider (Resend) delivers round emails; our scorecard-reading provider processes images you submit. These providers act on our instructions.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account from within the app (Profile → Delete Account), which removes your personal profile. Some round records shared with other players may be retained for those players’ history and settlement accuracy. You may also email us to request deletion.

Security

We use industry-standard measures (encrypted connections, access controls, row-level security) to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

Children

One Down Golf is rated 17+ and is not directed to children under 17. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 17.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
